INSUFFICIENT CONCEPT: BLADDER

Knowing Sunex Tools I decided to start with a well known brand rather than the cheaper spark plug cleaners sold in flea markets and Chinese stores. apparently. It was easy to set up. First thing I did was install a 1/4" male coupler to attach my quick connect air hose. Use teflon tape. Right thumb while twisting the connector with your left hand. I set the unit up to blast on B. Even at 110 PSI there was no kickback It was very quiet operation Very fine dust flies out of the unit so I would recommend wearing a dust mask The brief instructions do not indicate any time needed to clean I have been using started a minute and then another minute at setting A (AIR) The carbon was gone but the plug was covered in fine gray dust from the abrasive medium For a closer look under a strong magnifying magazine light This is where I got frustrated After polishing the plugs on the brass wire wheel, something is still not what it looked like. The abrasive silica filler is poured into the tapered indentation that houses the center electrode e surrounds, pinched and glued. I started digging it up with an Xacto knife. Please take a look at my uploaded images and note the amount of abrasive collected from each cork. This caustic grit can seriously damage engine cylinder walls. I've always hated removing the sticky carbon and grease that builds up on spark plugs, especially on 2-stroke engines. NGK spark plugs can be cleaned and reinstalled several times during their lifetime. I've been doing this for many years. I have four Honda ATVs owned by the same owner that are 112 years old combined and still run like new. I will continue to use Sunex spark plug cleaner but I will carefully inspect, polish and remove any black grit left in the spark plug before putting it back on the engine. In car engines I only use new platinum spark plugs and change them as recommended. The sand belongs to the beach. The two places it doesn't belong are my shorts and my spark plugs. In this case I have both.
