If you don't fit it perfectly the first time (almost impossible), changing the position will practically destroy the original Mazda carpet. Same goes if you ever take it off to wash or just need to take it all off together. Also, you lose access to the mounts that the Mazda network normally connects. Also, it doesn't fit perfectly on my 2021 Mazda CX-5 GT. Does some models with lighting fixtures have openings on the sides instead? I assume some 2017-2021 models have these. However, all models have strings. And they definitely should have left holes for them. That was reason enough for me to buy and return an original Mazda rubber tub with mounting grid holes. If there were mounting holes there I would probably keep it and be very careful with the placement of the velcro (my suggestion is to use blue tape to cover all the velcro to position each section and then remove the blue tape with each one to attach it).
