Review on πŸ” Whistler CR73 High Performance Laser Radar Detector: 360Β° Protection, Bilingual Voice Alerts - Enhanced SEO, Black by Jacob Schmidt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

All the features and performance at 1/3 the price

I haven't used a metal detector in YEARS because the 80's and 90's ruined your experience with incessant chirps and false alarms. They usually slowed down my average time instead of helping because they couldn't be trusted. Before a recent 1000 mile trip I decided to try detectors again. This one, which is the cheapest with GPS, gives you a lot of top-notch features for the money. But I have to point out how quiet this unit was in use. . . As he warned, 90% of the time, it was a real event, and some of them were almost heartbreaking. What brings you GPS? Highly accurate display of time and direction when there is no alarm and, in the event of alarms, the ability to tell the device if an area is a known false alarm, or automatically switch modes based on location, or you at any given time at all not to notify speed. I don't drive fast on city streets, that's great. Why not 5 stars? As for me, I'd like this thing to automatically stay quiet below 65 mph, as many US speed limits can go above 75 mph, but it's capped at 45 mph. This still helps as it doesn't work in neighborhoods or city centers like I've installed, but I personally don't want to hear speeds below 65mph from a radar detector. Even here in Ohio. But the good news is that this thing stays quiet enough on its own. I was in highway mode the whole time, maximum range. I've read countless reviews and sometimes in some tests Whistler was 5-10% less effective than the next brand but the price difference was 100-300% more! After 24+ hours on the road I have to say that value for money can't be beat. I bought an extra Smart Cord. . I didn't need it. The button can be assigned two options of your choice, but I've never used them. It stayed quiet enough that I didn't drive it to work, so I didn't have to remember famous places etc.
