Review on Morgan Products Plastic No Slip 123 by Amy Mcleod

Excellent tension

I've had enough of other hoops although I haven't messed with the hoop tape I just used the bare hoop. They all have the same problem: the cloth drum is difficult to wind and requires a lot of fiddling. That's why I love Q Snaps and never thought of trying another hoop until I saw this one. I had issues with the fabric tension at first, but I found that bypassing the hoop and stretching the entire fabric as you walked gave me very good tension. After that, I could sew for hours without even adjusting the fabric. As a test I left the fabric in the hoop overnight and the next day it was still perfectly stretched. Another nice thing was that I could sew all the way to the edge of the hoop, which is difficult with Q Snaps. The hair clips tucked easily into all of my excess fabric (it's 15" by 18") and my floor stand held the hoop with ease. Now I'm thinking about ordering more sizes for my bigger projects. As with all hoops, you will need to remove the fabric nightly to avoid permanent wrinkles or stretching and be sure to attach felt strips or other protection to the stitched areas. between the rings. Sewn in 2 threads on 16 threads Aida with strips of felt covering the seams, there were no puckered stitches even after leaving the fabric in the hoop overnight.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
