Review on CRAFTSMAN Storage 28 Inch Cabinet CMST98082RB by Lee Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Damaged and missing parts

I have had two of these Seas Craftsman cabinets. I needed a third one and got it from the new Stanley/Lowes Craftsman. I bought it from Revain. minor problems. The Lowes Craftsman's red is different from the Sears Craftsman's red. The Craftsman label on this unit is different from the Sears Craftsman versions. The aluminum door handles are wider than the old Sears Craftsman cabinets. The cabinets will not work with Sears Craftsman units so keep that in mind. Not so hot what's up. In my case, this unit sits between two old Sears units, so it hides the difference. Big issues: I bought this knowing it was a Revain return. You must check things carefully before resale. They didn't. It arrived significantly damaged. I had to repaint the doors. Nuts and bolts were also missing. Also, the screws are too long. The instructions say they are half an inch, but the pieces I received are 3/4 inch. They are inserted far enough into the closet to interfere with the placement of items. the manufacturer must have been aware of this, as this device was supplied with wear discs. But one puck is not enough. To tighten the nuts I added a second washer. Ironically, the Craftsman logo was completely broken, but I fixed it with double sided tape. If I had looked carefully at the details when I first received it I might have sent it back. Since I waited too long to watch, I did it.
