Worth the price

I considered buying the $80 brand Oxo Japanese blade but then realized it was better to save up for better stuff and bought these instead . As long as I don't regret it! The blades are easy to adjust and change, the food slicer is quite stable and doesn't worry about your fingers! And the pins in the safety trigger are much longer and hold better than many other mandolins. A few helpful tips: First, cut the device perpendicularly away from you. Do not try to use it sideways, otherwise the item to be cut will slide off and you will hurt your arm, shoulder or hand. Second, make sure the device is firmly attached to the surface so it doesn't wobble! Don't cut across the guts or into a plate, lay down a kitchen towel or paper towel and then continue cutting around town. And finally, third, for anything you're slicing very high vertically (yams, potatoes, zucchini), start without using the grey/white safety slider or you won't be able to get into the harder, chewy texture to press. Article. Yes, yes it's a blade, you think I'm crazy for suggesting that, but the clear plastic guard on the bottom will keep your hand from getting close to the blade and you won't be able to get good power get when you press the blade city with the safety slider. If the item is too high, the item you are cutting will shake and fall down. Once you feel your hand touch the top of the plastic protector, grab the trigger and use the pins to pierce the object! EASY TO UNDERSTAND SETTINGS - Set the knob on the left for 4 different thicknesses. Move the middle knob to the right for thicker grinds and all the way to the right for finer grinds. Lift the metal flap to open the blade, then pull the rightmost handle (the only unmarked handle on the unit) to set the blade in the pattern cutting position! The raised metal valve is also great for cleaning. I'd recommend drying it straight away if you can, just to make sure it doesn't rust (shouldn't, but it's best to take proper care of the new item from the start!)

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
