I converted my hardtail to an e-bike and it was so much fun that I have significantly increased the total distance and mileage that I log. Now it's higher speed miles, crappy roads and more sitting (since I switched to electric). I already had a gel saddle but my back was congesting and I had to ride less to deal with the increasing pain. Then I found out that there are suspension seat posts. I'm not a small person - 250 pounds - so I wanted the best and most durable I could get with capacity for my weight + loaded backpack. I was initially put off by the price of this post, but after about 100 miles I can say this is the best comfort upgrade I've done. I hardly feel the shock of the same potholes and bumps in the road that used to make me clench my teeth and grimace. Worth every penny!
