I was hoping to get a quality pocket sized compact camera for around $100. Big mistake. I appreciate most of Canon's imaging products, but this one is wrong (although I don't blame Canon for that price). With relatively positive reviews, I was hoping that the CCD sensor would be of CMOS sensor quality. But there doesn't seem to be any such evidence. Images taken in low light (e.g. in a museum where flash photography is not allowed) were very grainy. The exterior shots were good, but not outstanding. I might as well bring that back and look for a Canon "point and shoot" with a CMOS sensor. It will probably cost at least $100 more than this one. But when you're shooting once-in-a-lifetime events, do you really want to risk subpar image quality? I'm sure not.
