Perfect for my main use; useless like an old regular camera

I needed a good camera to take photos for my business (products and production steps). Since none of these images require a quick reaction, this SLOOOOOW camera is great. Great clear photos. Focuses very well. Tele mode is a bit finicky - the push ring is very small - but it works well. The flash is great; does not overwhelm or wash out the object. However, it is very SLOW to write the image onto the chip. I wouldn't try to use ti for friends (well, I tried using it for friends and a lot of the

Low light photos are very grainy

I was hoping to get a quality pocket sized compact camera for around $100. Big mistake. I appreciate most of Canon's imaging products, but this one is wrong (although I don't blame Canon for that price). With relatively positive reviews, I was hoping that the CCD sensor would be of CMOS sensor quality. But there doesn't seem to be any such evidence. Images taken in low light (e.g. in a museum where flash photography is not allowed) were very grainy. The exterior shots were good, but not…

Broke pretty quickly.

Broken after about a year. Canon needs to lower its standards because my son's old silver cannon can at least still kick in when he fiddles with the lens servos. This one didn't even extend the lens before posting a "lens error" and to my knowledge it never mishandled it. Especially since he was very upset because he broke the lens servos on his silver camera, which he now has to use. We bought a Fuji to replace this. Edit: Son, I have to agree with that. When I got this camera I was very happy

Great camera great company

My friend bought me this camera in March and it worked great. It's easy to use, the color is so pretty (mine is blue) and it's so easy to download images to your computer. In addition, the program that comes with the camera automatically sorts the photos in my folder into separate folders by date, which is very convenient and makes it easy to view and find photos. A few months after I got the camera, I took it out of its case and every shot there was a line in the frame, even after I downloaded

Great little camera

When my Sony pocket camera died I thought I wanted a slightly larger camera with more features, but friends with big, "real life" cameras convinced me to look for another pocket camera . for easy transport. I have compared many cameras in this "class" and am very happy with my choice of the Canon PowerShot. First, it has so many interesting features for such a small camera that I had a hard time remembering it. everything is available, including many features previously only available in photo…

You can't go wrong with the price.

I was looking for something to replace my old Fuji 3800 FinePix, which has 3 megapixels and 6x optical zoom. The Fuji actually shoots very sharply (the main reason being the low, non-adjustable ISO setting of 100), but it's a little clunky. I wanted something compact, that I could slip in my shirt pocket and that wasn't expensive, but had a reasonable zoom and took at least as good photos as the Fuji. I think I found it in the Canon A4000. I've only been using it for about a week but am very…
