I've been adding some extra aerators and sponge filters to my tanks, ordered two of these and they really helped. One of them will show up in a few days. As a result, I got tired and started looking for a cheap set of valves. The 90 degree rubber bend is pretty useless in my opinion, but it hides the ribbed plastic connector perfect for the air hose. I simply removed it and connected the line directly. So far, neither connection is showing any signs that they aren't even considering a breakup. The only possible limitation I can think of is that they sit fairly high on the back of the tanks. Especially on my 10 gallon as the rim of the 10 gallon is smaller so it needs to be clamped higher. It could sit a little lower at 30. So if you want something more understated, I would go for something else. Personally I haven't had a problem and they've been great so far.
