I just bought a pack of 1" Merv-13 filters while I was servicing my oven. The service technician told me not to use anything higher than Merv 8 on my oven because the Merv 13 is too compact in a 1 inch filter to get the right amount of air through the system. He said if I'm absolutely sure I need a Merv 13 then I should modify the system to install a 2 inch filter. After further research, this looks like the correct statement from my HVAC specialist. Check with the oven manufacturer to see if they support these filters. Otherwise you will get higher utility bills and may even damage the oven.
