Well made serial adapter that works well
Star Tech's 90 degree serial adapter worked great for our project. They seemed to be well made. We use them to interact with servo controllers in some of our aircraft tracking systems. You haven't failed yet. When connecting to the device, make sure that the plug and socket are correctly connected, otherwise the connection cable/etc. can't sit properly.
