I've never bothered with this because I don't usually hem large pieces of fabric. For small or medium details, it's easier to mark one spot, look at the rest, and then check everything with a ruler. It was cheap and intrigued me enough to try it. Shortly thereafter, I bought some long, sheer, torn veil panels that were too long for my needs. Folding the edge 1/2 inch into the iron and then 3 inches again was like pinning jelly to the wall. It was much quicker to check the 3" edge with this after pinning than with a ruler since the "T" keeps 3.5" down the width of this slippery material. the ones i have works well The slider is fixed and does not move. Don't handle it manually and it should take a while. I don't know if it will work for hemming heavy jeans etc as it has almost no weight. This is normal with lighter weight fabrics, and it is best if the fabric can be "pinched by hand" a little to smooth out the crease. Crumpled Veil, etc. Glad the job is done.
