Review on πŸ”§ Effortless Paddle Installation: Introducing POWERTEC 71651 Paddle Installation Hardware by Ronggolawe Denney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

2 Failed at 3 and 18 months. Need a deep electrical box.

I have this installed on a band saw with a 13 amp motor @ 115 VAC and a table saw rated at 7 amp @ 220 VAC. easy to connect. Works on 220V AC. It has 2 strokes so you can switch between hot and neutral or both phases of the 220V line. The start button has a very secure latch and the latch paddle works great. Paddle or Knob: The stop paddle is easily removed to simplify installation or if you just want to use the stop button instead of a manipulator. Good price: only about $11, they are cheap. THE BAD: Unreliable: I had a switch failure at 3 months and a replacement at 18 months when plugged into 220VAC on a table. seen. Powertec is an easy replacement, but the hassle of reinstalling is tedious. This time I bought a spare as they are so cheap. Deep Case: The switch is deep, too deep to fit in a standard electrical box. I bought a deeper box that had room for the switch housing along with the wiring and its connectors. The screws do not fit into the electrical box. The screws supplied also do not match the threads of the standard electrical box. You need to replace the screws with long screws that screw into the box. The screws do not match the electrical box. Also, the screws don't perfectly match standard electrical box spacing, but they are close enough for the screw to start and eventually tighten.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
