When I use this adapter to pair a bluetooth headset to my desktop, I was afraid there would be lag. Since I watch a lot of YouTube, I didn't want the voices to be out of sync. I tried to find an inexpensive AptX or 5.0 adapter but couldn't. Luckily, this adapter works without lag. It was completely ready to work with Windows 10. The Bluetooth icon immediately appeared in the notification center. Pairing was easy. Other reviewers who say drivers are an issue must have some sort of program conflict, permissions issue, and be using a standalone or IT-managed PC. For a typical Windows 10 home PC, it's plug-n-play, no driver downloads required. The range is also decent. I was able to get over 25 feet into the kitchen for a drink and didn't lose connection. I certainly don't use it for long-distance use, but I would like to note that the distance is sufficient. I would recommend purchasing this adapter.
