Works very well.: Tripods and Monopods
I'm not sure if carbon tripods/monopods are that much lighter, but this system is perfect. I went to the shoot with only one monopod and both have more than enough height. I have a smaller tripod (not monopod) that is lighter and used for plan travel, but it's also much smaller so the weight difference is understandable. The 90 degree tilt I could use to get a top view for macro shots and I think it's valid for a panorama but it's really not necessary. Overall it's strong, durable and tall so you don't have to fully extend each fitting. get enough height.
