This item is primarily metal and works well. Underneath the grip cam is a small feed from a polymer washer. Threading the grip in or out of the nut gives little adjustment, but the 3 internal washers have a wide size variation so you may need to use the matching washer and then apply a thin brass washer (you can use tape for low voltage .. applications) and then make fine adjustments to how far the knob threads into the nut.
