I have never owned an electric coffee grinder. My cheap manual coffee grinder finally broke. I have one of the electric "grinders" which is more like a blender. This is not a true coffee grinder as it does not grind beans of the same size. I get coffee that is half fine ground and half fine ground - very uneven. With this Shardor grinder, I followed the directions and gave the parts a quick rinse before using them for the first time. I started with a setting in the "fine" grinding range. Added some beans and hit the power button. It's a little noisy but works pretty fast. My manual coffee grinder didn't have a grind adjustment - just tighten or loosen the screw, which was unreliable. It's nice to have positions that lock in place when you select the fine/coarse grind setting. The funnel is a decent size and I've used it for about (6) infusions. I spend most of my weekends grinding and brewing Pour Over. If you look at the ground coffee after a few cycles, it seems to be grinding very evenly. I'm happy with it and so far I can recommend it.
