Works almost perfect for my needs

I installed my work laptop dock on my home desktop which is also where I use my PC. I quickly realized that replacing USB mouse and keyboard adapters every time I wanted to switch between work and personal computers was a hassle and unnecessary port wear. Also, realizing that the built-in DAC in my work laptop was junk when trying to listen to music on Pandora at work, I decided to look for a USB switch and came across this one. I'm happy to report that the UGREEN USB 3.0 switch works almost perfectly with my setup. I connected it to my PC and laptop docking station. I have a mouse adapter, wired keyboard and standalone DAC connected to the front panel. I even used the 4th USB port for another keyboard adapter so I can use my wireless keyboard from the couch when I want to switch my computer screen to my TV and that works great too. Pressing the button on top of the UGREEN device quickly switches control from one computer to another without delay. A small unobtrusive blue LED indicates which computer is active. The mouse, keyboard and audio DAC will work correctly on the selected computer out of the box. The only thing I sometimes have trouble with is when the computer I'm switching to is asleep. In this case, moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard doesn't wake up the computer as usual, and I have to press the power button on the computer to wake it up. Not sure why this is happening, but it looks like the USB connection wasn't active when the computer went to sleep, it won't connect until manually woken up. I checked the power settings to make sure the USB ports aren't turning off when the computer is in sleep mode as that would be the obvious cause of the problem, but it's not. This is a minor inconvenience as my PC and the dock's power buttons are easily accessible, but it would be nice if they worked. The UGREEN is quite small and sits discreetly on my desk on top of my audio mixer. To keep the cables tidy, I have to make a 180 degree bend with my two cable connectors (keyboard and DAC) to route the cables back behind the switch. If I just plugged in 4 USB adapters, it wouldn't be a problem. The only way to fix this is to put all the ports on the back and then the device needs to be bigger to fit 6 ports on a side instead of 4. The switch is very light (sometimes due to stiff cables). Lift it up so it doesn't lay flat) and has a cheap plastic body with no mounting option if you want to attach it to anything, but those are minor complaints as it works reasonably well. USB if your devices need a lot of power (e.g. if you want to charge something via USB), but even with the backlit keyboard I use, I didn't connect this switch to power and it and my devices just work Great. Overall I am satisfied with the UGREEN USB 3.0 Switch. If it could always connect to a computer that's sleeping on the switch I'd be even happier, but that can't even be the switch's fault. I definitely recommend this if you want to share inputs between two computers without having to plug and unplug cables, dongles, and adapters.
