Ineffective, annoying
I really wanted these rings to work. My experience is that the ring does not stay in place. Like a "shimmer," the skein's yarn prevented me from casting on loops with the active yarn. I couldn't get the ring to stay on my knuckle and even when I could the ring got stuck. Twist where the working and non-active yarns get tangled when sewing.
