Serves the purpose and is durable but not for me

Someone else commented that they think it relieves hand cramps due to small hands. However, I think I have a somewhat opposite problem. I found this pen almost too big and unwieldy. After using it for a few weeks I decided to take it off and it became much easier to write. It makes me wonder why I even bothered to buy this. It's not heavy, but certainly heavier than the Apple Pencil itself. And for small muscles like the hand and wrist, long-term use doesn't require too much extra weight to cause problems. The case was easy to put on. It goes well with the pencil, but I haven't had any problems with scratches. Hypothetically, if you misalign the click mechanism, you could accidentally pop out your stylus, as others have reported. But that's not a problem if you're careful with your $100 Apple Pencil? I wriggled around decently, so I kept opening and closing it, but it didn't break. To charge, I simply unscrewed the cap, removed the pencil's official cap, and then gently pressed the tip to place it on the charger. Not difficult. You don't have to completely disassemble it to charge. I personally don't think I need serious protection for my Apple Pencil. I don't travel with my iPad Pro all the time, and when I put it in my bag, I don't just throw it in (it cost $700, after all). I put it in the sleeve pocket of my Macbook Pro to keep it from dangling. If your bag doesn't have a sleeve pocket or you put your pen in a pencil case, protection may be an important factor for you. However, I think I'll try a pen instead because the pencil is slippery. The larger case size helped a little with that, but didn't really solve the problem as my hand still slipped a bit with the case, but not by much.
