Takes up less space.

I had storage containers in the drawer that couldn't be folded, nobody in the family used them because they didn't put them back. I have taken and given. And now I have many places where I can buy different sizes. We love them because you can break down even halfway through. Would like to use larger bowls next time. My daughter uses them for her homemade soups and sauces.
