Review on ALLISANDRO Small Animal Playpen: Indoor/Outdoor Metal Wire Cage, Portable Fence for Guinea Pigs, Bunny, Turtle, Hamster - 11.8x11.8 Dimensions by Laurie Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for small, non-climbing puppies. Use cable ties to make it stronger.

I used 11 panels and 1 gate to make a puppy flat for our pup. On one side is his water, food and bed and on the other side is a holder for a puppy training mat. I put a goal in the middle to separate the two sides. I had to use the zip ties provided to attach 1 panel and a gate to the sides of the other panels as the divider was in the middle of one side panel on each side. (Had I used connectors there would have been less room in her play area. Also, I wanted the side of the potty to be exactly the same size as the mat holder.) Then I placed it on the play side and used the pot command to close it show where the gate was and then she would give small pieces of 1 of a treat every time she found the gate and approached the pot. (Dogs don't always need the whole treat in one bite. One bite is enough. It took about 5 minutes and she didn't have a single wrong side accident all night. When our 10 week old Pekingese gets up on her hind legs, it's as high as a fence You can add individual panels as needed or stack them to make it taller.Other suppliers' panels don't come with gates but this one did.I believe the second stack should be tied to the lower level. When you place the panels to connect in the shape you want, push the two panels together (in the direction of the connector) and you will hear a click.I found this out by accident because it wasn't on the direction and the gap was bigger than I wanted.I have nothing read about them clicking together but they click on the stickers that are for the bottom half of the connectors they keep the pin from slipping I have garbage bags on used my hardwood floor then I added a splat mat (goes under the baby high chair, they said they are waterproof but some reviewers have claimed the liquid will eventually seep through. One thing I would change is to have a couple of connectors that don't have a center piece so we don't have to tighten them. There are 4 slots but they are not complete. I added a picture to show the connector. Another thing that needs changing is how the gate stays closed. This is a small metal bar that the edge of the gate slides into. I am attaching a closeup photo. It's too easy to accidentally open or close. It needs some kind of metal clip to keep it open or closed according to your needs. We still use a clothespin to hold the door open but dogs like to chew on wood so we'll find something else tomorrow. I don't want the door to close so she can't get at the pot.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Can hurt
