Due to all the confusion surrounding USB-C/USB/USB-PD/Thunderbolt and USB alternative modes, we lack accurate advertising and product descriptions. Anker was the most trusted device manufacturer with accurate product descriptions when migrating my charging peripherals and hub to USB-C. This works as advertised using my Dell XPS 13 9350 as a USB-C hub. I route power (from an Anker 60W USB-C wall charger) to a USB-C socket, which charges my laptop when the hub is plugged in. I connected my keyboard to a built-in USB hub, which I connect my mouse to, so despite the single USB-A port on that hub, you can connect many USB-A devices through the hub. I also connected an HDMI cable which powers my 1440p display at a full 60Hz. All this at the same time. I went through 2 other hubs that advertised supporting Dell XPS but none of them did. I hope that in a few years the USB-C/USB/Thunderbolt confusion will decrease and manufacturers will be able to promote their devices properly and consumers will be able to buy exactly what they need. charging, USB hub at the same time).
