Review on πŸ’Ύ 500GB New Sata 2.5" Hard Drive - Upgrade your Apple MacBook & MacBook Pro Storage! by Tyler Cooley

Great BLANK hard drive, comes in protective packaging and easy to install!

Great BLANK hard drive to replace the broken one in my old MacBook Pro. There is absolutely nothing on it, no operating system, no files, nothing else, so you need to install an operating system on it. There are no instructions for installation as it is hardware only but I think it is very simple and easy to replace. I also have experience disassembling and rebuilding computers, so I may be biased as well. However, for absolute newbies, simply remove the back of your MacBook Pro, locate the hard drive, unscrew the tiny screws holding the old hard drive in place, and make sure you get the hang of it! I put mine in a little storage cup every time I take one out. There's also a small mounting plate that keeps the hard drive from wobbling, requiring you to detach it. After that, it is enough to disconnect the disk, connect a new disk and do everything in reverse order. It's also very easy to do a Google search and find a YouTube video on how to do it. Installing a new operating system is a bit more complicated, but not bad. I can't remember the exact steps, but basically if you have a hard drive to install from you can access Disk Utilities and download the OS from the App Store, or you can put an older OS onto a USB Download the stick and then install it from there. The MacBook I replaced at maximum hard drive in High Sierra failed to download Mojave from the App Store or even High Sierra from the App Store. I had to track down El Capitan and then download it, but it was just my computer.
