It's ok but overpriced for what it does

Looks weird I keep thinking about Howard the Duck but the build quality is ok. The picture quality is better than the previous version as it is 4k 30fps. 4k looks good in good light but gets grainy and noisy in low light. Aperture 2.8 has nothing to brag about. The white balance has a bit of trouble finding the best scene mode, but not too much, and when you point it at different lights it adjusts, after which you can shoot or make manual adjustments. Contrast is a little high, but that's not a bad thing, there's no exposure adjustment and you can forget about adjusting ISO or aperture, either. Colors are ok, not saturated but not flat either. Everything is ok and quite acceptable, nothing particularly bad. The sound quality is good, clear and crisp, there is almost no noise during playback, but the recording level is at the maximum level for voice recording. But this is aimed at musicians, and they'll be making much louder sounds than just speaking, so the recording's volume level has a lot of latitude in that sense. Otherwise, the overall recording volume isn't much higher than most cameras. The video part lags behind a bit. 4k 60fps is becoming the norm. The default setting is that you should be able to adjust the exposure. I want to remove the fisheye on wide angle settings. This camera will probably spend most of its time on a tripod, but image stabilization would be great. If I'm taking this to a show, live event or anywhere else I'll want to take advantage of the smooth audio recording capabilities. The screen is terrible. Looks like it's from a game boy or something. The screen resolution is ridiculous. The cheapest action cams have the best displays. Battery life is short, really short shots in 4k. I think I had 30 minutes on the batteries that came with it. It might be better with some Duracells, but rechargeable ones are the way to go. After all, you can change the batteries, but you need nails to change the battery. tape would be nice. You can use a rechargeable battery, but that's another thing to carry around. Menu navigation is simple and straightforward, as are the shortcut buttons on the sides and front. I understand they are offering this to musicians, but with some updates and tweaks they can easily introduce this to vloggers, podcasters and YouTubers or anyone who wants good sound with a good camera. the previous version without moving forward at the camera end. Don't add a camera just to say "Hey, you don't have to carry around the camera we have on our recorders now." 😮 It wouldn't hurt to make it waterproof. Don't talk about scuba diving, talk about rain, spilled water, or a random kid rubbing their ice cream cone on your recorder thinking it'll be a nice hat and lots of peace. Constantly changing batteries becomes a chore. You can't even charge the batteries inside the device, you have to take them out. Charging and recording something most cameras are capable of would be a simple thing they could add for more versatility, but as I said it's a bit behind the times. I don't think it's worth the price. Should be around $100. There are many action cameras these days that can record equally good audio.
