These straps are pretty tight when you first get them. I wasn't 100% sure what they meant by ouch, but when I opened the package I realized.; They don't have a protruding metal band connecting the two rubber ends like old hair ties. They now have a smaller part connecting the ends so they don't rip your hair out when you let them down. For the price you pay for the quantity you get a lot, this pack could last you a lifetime. However, some people lose them a lot, so this is a good little stock for them. Love the little free sample strip they send you with every pack of 30, it's not very stretchy but cute.
