I'm a pretty standard eight in almost everything, I tend to lean wide rather than narrow, but the standard width usually suits me. I took the advice and went half a size to an 8 1/2 because both of my middle fingers are the same length as my thumb. I'm comfortable with the length left in the front of the shoe and feel more confident that I won't be dragging my toes across the bare floor while dancing. The straps around the balls of the feet feel a bit loose but after they swell during wear I'm sure everything will be fine. The ankle strap is odd but secure. I bought them to have fun dancing, just to have something more comfortable than standard heels but still look cute. They appear to be of decent quality but are definitely worth your money compared to other dance shoes on sale here. The material is a kind of black satin, the sole is flexible and has nice foam all over it.
