Great for vented transmissions
While I didn't buy them for sound deadening, I do like using sintered transmission vents which need to remain open to atmosphere. Old vent plugs with a few vent holes often quickly foul the area with oil. In addition, the oil does not go away, but simply flows back into the housing.
