Review on ๐Ÿ‘™ UPF 50+ Begin to Swim Thermal Swimsuit for Speedo Kids by Chad Chavez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Something has changed: Wetsuits

I had a skinny child who got cold while taking swimming lessons in an unheated outdoor pool. The difference factor for me was that the wetsuit price was less than the difference in private lessons at a heated pool in a nearby town 30 minutes away. I confess I chose Speedo because pink is her favorite color and Speedo is a brand I know and trust. And that I can get it through PRIME. Pros: Neoprene body but very thin, great for swimming, Lycra sleeves, like a swimsuit. I was surprised at how light the neoprene is which is probably great for moving around in the water but I don't know how much it will keep you warm compared to a regular wetsuit. Warmer than without, I suspect, but not as warm as a regular wetsuit. As I'm not wearing it I can't say for sure but it seems to be keeping her a little warmer than before - she still feels cold after her bath but her lips aren't blue and she doesn't chatter, she gets the whole lesson sit now instead of going halfway (so in my book it's a success). Pink is bright and vibrant and she loves wearing it. It is very easy to spot in the pool or water park. She just turned 4 and we're happily wearing a size 4 this season. Love the fact that the zipper is in the front as we're definitely in can-do-it-yourself mode. Holds up well - no issues with the stitching. I toss it in the wash along with the towel after our daily session on a gentle cycle with an extra spin and some detergent and let both air dry. Cons: Unfortunately, my child has very skinny legs and the wetsuit is not tight. on them to cover their legs like a regular wetsuit. I've thought about sewing an extra cuff to the leg hem and seeing if that would make a difference, but it's growing so fast we'll probably look at another suit first anyway. She looks like an average height kid (only petite build). I don't know if she can wear it next season when her upper body gets too long. It seems all the instructors in our pool wear Body Glove wetsuits. I think if we continued swimming here we would stop at this mark next time. I just don't see children's sizes/colors online. FYI - I'm familiar with jet ski wetsuits - this one is MUCH thinner in comparison with no added buoyancy so I don't know what the description is talking about. So you CANNOT use this wetsuit while skiing, boating etc without PFD baby. LOVED the delivery of Revain Prime. We started classes on Monday, on Tuesday after the second abbreviated lesson with blue lips we decided to buy her a wetsuit which was ordered through the Revain phone app while she was still in the pool. Made it to class Thursday morning!
