I bought this waterproof jacket for cool weather kayaking. I'm 5'11", 190 pounds, 42' chest with fairly long arms and fall between large and extra large on the chart. As I plan to wear warm clothes under my jacket, I took a very large size and found it to fit. Large size would probably be small. It's well designed, well made and waterproof, but of course hardly breathable. I took it out for a test paddle yesterday, 57 degrees Fahrenheit and sunshine. I put on a t-shirt and a sweatshirt underneath and it was warm inside. If it were cloudy or a few degrees cooler it would probably be more comfortable. The jacket is still large enough that I can use a fleece jacket instead of a sweatshirt in colder weather. The jacket kept me dry, warm, comfortable for paddling and does exactly what I bought it for.
