My best advice is to buy ink if you don't already have it. The ink I was supposed to get was blue, but I got a very pale gray with almost no pigmentation. Pigmentation is very important for line work, which I use a pen for, and I think it will be very important for lettering as well. Maybe it was just a specific color they sent me, but I had to buy more ink separately. The positive thing about the pen is that it writes very fluently and the ink takes a long time to apply. Unlike regular-tipped pens, this one is also more comfortable for left-handers because you don't pull the pen in the opposite direction that the tip opens. Neither handle opens, so direction doesn't matter. I think the only downside for me with the pen so far has been less control over the ink flow, but maybe I'm just not used to this type of pen yet. may be? Overall, I think it's definitely worth the price.
