This file is no better or worse than any I have ever used. What you see is what you get. a wooden file with a rough emery end to file the leg. There's nothing special about this file compared to others to deserve all the rave reviews, but they got me hooked again and I gave it a try anyway. Years ago I had a very good foot file (similar to a cheese grater) and a very good foot file (more like that but a little rougher) that worked wonders for my feet and I compare every file I use to these. Most I've tried since have been fine, but back then I had the luxury of being able to shop in a store and evaluate items with my own hands and eyes, rather than relying on other people's reviews. Because of this, I decided to test this product myself. Ever since I had children, my feet have suffered from dry skin in the heel area. My feet used to be swollen and cracked with my eldest and now I am blessed with their appearance from time to time. Before kids my feet didn't need any treatment and a little petroleum jelly + socks at night always helped. Then this file might be suitable. Keeping your feet in a comfortable position is kind of a process these days and this file isn't good enough. I have a collection of graters, files, stones and electric files that have all been tested very well and I can honestly say the ones I've bought from Revain have all been exactly the same. None was better than the other. None of them were worthy of rave 5-star reviews. They are all fine. Nothing special. I used this product for 15 minutes and it worked well but wasn't particularly effective. It hasn't thinned my skin much (if you have calluses) but it has fixed some superficial cracks as well as some of the roughness caused by that horrible Peilei rub (also extravagantly tested) which I also had a few months ago from bought this site before. return. My advice to you - if you happen to have the opportunity to shop at the store and get your hands on the files and check for yourself before you buy. do that. You will no doubt find a much better grater/file. The ones you find here will take a lot of effort to work, but they'll be just fine, and while worth the money, they probably don't live up to the reviews.
