I am a Kyurig lover. I liked having a freshly brewed cup whenever I wanted. The environmental and financial costs (we drink a lot of coffee and the cups are expensive) got out of hand last fall, so I packed up and bought a $10 brew kettle from Walmart. It worked well, but it took forever to brew, and if I didn't get a cup within 15 minutes, it always burned and tasted stale. That really upset me. Fast forward to March and I decided to buy a medium quality pot for my birthday. The reviews for it were great and the price was right. I decided to give it a try. Likes: It's attractive. Looks very modern and stylish on my desk. Looks more expensive than it was. Brews fast. 8 cups are ready in the time it takes me to change a diaper or brush my teeth. Coffee is never burned! I've already poured a cup an hour after brewing and it tastes fresh! This is very important to me because I don't throw away half the coffee pot to make fresh coffee. The basket filter is easy to unload and wash, lighter than paper filters. I only ever had coffee grounds in my coffee when I woke up. Cons: - Difficult to pour water from the carafe into the brew pot. It ends up spilling over my counter and I have to add more water to get the right amount. All in all, this is a fabulous pot for $35.
