They were well packaged in a nice box. We're not newly married but thought they would be nice to mark our morning coffee. They are! They are by no means oversized. See photoThe mugs wash and dry well by hand and in the dishwasher. They don't improve the taste of the coffee, but they make you smile! I'm adding them to my "Congratulations on your engagement" gift list.
