Review on πŸ“‘ Scosche FDAKB: 1995-97 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Antenna Adapter Kit for FM Modulator Compatibility by Patrick Gibb

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad quality but it works

I bought this unit to connect the built in FM modulator between the antenna and the stock radio in my Ford Taurus. In this car (and probably in many Ford cars) the radio is actually in two parts: one part (including the tuner) is in the trunk, and the dash is the remote for the trunk. In the trunk, the antenna was connected directly to it using a special Ford connector. To put my FM modulator in series between antenna and tuner I used this kit. Pros: It seems to work great with everything connected. , and the reception seems to be good. Cons: Build quality is only so-so (but what can you expect for the price?) with slightly crimped ends. Also, the end of the adapter that plugs into the tuner box doesn't snap into place as securely as a standard antenna, so I had to use a large zip tie to make sure it didn't vibrate while the car was running. Recommendation: If you need it, get it. I'm not sure if one brand is better than others and there are other brands out there so go by price.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
