So far so good. I installed the oven door seal with this cable seal in the week of 11/24/14. Installation was easy. This pulley was a snug fit and was long enough to cut. Installation Details: Remove the old gasket and cement from the oven door with a screwdriver. I scraped the old cement out of the door channel with a wire and wiped it off with a wet rag. Used "Slab Gasket Cement (77E) 2.3 oz BLACK". I unscrewed the cement tube's cap, cut off the tip of the nozzle to open it, and squeezed out a generous portion (3/4 of the channel) around the entire perimeter of the door. The cable seal is installed by placing the seal in the channel on top of the cement and pushing in by hand. Once the gasket has been planted in the cement, cut it to the correct length and join the two ends leaving no gap. Leave overnight. The next day I put the door back on the kiln and started a small fire by placing a sheet of newspaper between the new gasket and the kiln opening so the gasket wouldn't stick to the kiln unless the cement was completely dry. . So far, so good.
