UPDATE (04/06/2019): Small plastic parts can be used to connect small diameter tubing to the pump. Plastic part for fastening pipes of different diameters. It doesn't come out easily - and it shouldn't. A small hose clamp should be included with the kit to ensure the hose stays attached to the adapter regardless of the size used. If possible, the largest diameter hose should be used if this pump is to be used in a circulation well. Hope this pump lasts a few years. INITIAL REVIEW (3/31/2019): As others have said, what are so-called adapters for? If smaller hoses can be connected, a short length of hose must be supplied to connect the pump outlet to the adapter. Haven't tried this in my fountain yet so I'll have to update my review later. .
