Bought small. I'm 5ft 8 1/2" and 135#. Hips 37 inches. I wear small to medium in the Athleta brand, it helps. Pants are thin which is good. When they came out of the box they saw in the thigh area looked sooo small but was made of stretchy material so they really fit.Looks a little tighter than the model and a bit shorter.I have a longer style.Next I'm ordering gray but you can try the medium.The only slightly loose area is behind the knee. Otherwise fits more like leggings if that is what you want. I would go for the medium one if you want a little looser. Addendum: I was going to try gray and blue but only got the large size. Whether you Believe it or not, they fit as well, but just looser in the legs, like a model. I usually like 32" inseams and wish they were longer. Hit about 3-4 inches above the ankle like 7/8 leggings. I have to bring back the 80's sock scrunchie if I want to wear it this winter! One more thing: the biggest socks kept slipping, so I gave them to a friend. I ordered a medium in graffiti and olive green. Different material than other black cameos. The fit is much looser in the front where the pants zipper should be and the material isn't as compressive. Don't expect different colors to be the same material I guess. The gray big ones I had were a bit shiny but not baggy in the zipper area and they ran a size bigger!
