I'm slowly transitioning to hydroponics and it's a very rewarding growing method. I chose these pumps, which I currently have 10 of and only 2 die a year which I think is a good investment. The two that died did so when the water ran out and I forgot to turn them off. They work with 24 x 1/4" spikes while still allowing you to set the flow to 3.5 feet with sediment-rich water like the one I've grown organically with homemade soil. Just make sure you put a mesh bag around the filter and II even go as far as putting a 1" 3D mesh around the base setting to keep the mesh bag from clogging right in front of the machine. Consumption. Works great, buy more, wish they had a version half the size and half the price so I had a lot more for small micro tank racks.
