This is a terrific idea, in general. It catches litter right outside the box and very little goes elsewhere in the house. However two drawbacks. It opens at both ends. That means when you squeeze it to tip it and dump litter out, litter can roll out toward you if not balanced just right. I glued one end shut and now it's a perfect (envelope-like) design.UNFORTUNATELY! This mat still won't lay flat. I have bent it in the opposite direction, and I have put weights in the middle of it. Nothing helps. It will NOT lay flat. (I've had it for months!) The cat approaches it from an acute angle because she doesn't like stepping on the "hump" in the middle. If I could solve this problem it would be absolutely an perfect litter-catcher!
