His. only good for laptop accessories

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm using a dual monitor setup with a Macbook Air M1 and the lid is closed almost 100% of the time. This works most of the time - I can usually hibernate/wake the laptop with an external keyboard and mouse, and it automatically wakes up in dual monitor mode. There is a bug that causes the display to either blink between 1 and 2 screens or turn off my accessory. In these cases I have to undock my laptop and restart the DisplayLink software, after that it works fine. Pros: - When it works, it works pretty well. - It is compact which is good for limited desk space. - He will work. in clamshell mode - Virtually no lag. Not a gamer, but for me (a student who does a lot of programming) it works fine. Cons: - Gets quite hot. I actually attached some heatsinks to the top of mine to help it cool down a bit. I'm not sure if it has made a difference other than making me feel better. This works 90% of the time. I would like it closer to 100%. Maybe it's better with products that are actually designed for dual display - I understand installing M1 Mac/DisplayLink is kind of a hack. - If you move the laptop while it's plugged in (causing the input to wobble), the display will turn off. It's very delicate. For me personally this is not a problem, but there is something to consider.
