and interfere. (Why else, right?) I chose the Uniden kit because it has a mute button for convenient muting of the device when needed. Installation is relatively easy, especially if you have the fuse box next to the dash on the driver's side on the A-pillar like on my Sierra. I simply routed a flat phone cord under the ceiling and door panel to the fuse box with a plastic trim tool. When you buy a tap for your fuse type, simply find a circuit fuse, pull it out, insert the tap, Replace the fuse in the bottom faucet slot and your radar detector's fuse in the top faucet slot and connect to the red wire in the kit. Connect the black wire to a good ground screw, bolt, or nut and you're good to go. I used the velcro that came with the device and placed the button block on the side of the console near my foot where it's easy to reach and out of sight. The device works well, I am satisfied with the purchase and I recommend it to my customers. Friend. where it is easy to reach and invisible.
