I have been a dog and cat groomer for many years and now run a grooming salon whilst continuing to care for our clients' beloved pets. Tangles and hair loss happen despite owners' attempts to club with various products, brushes and combs! In general, a down brush will work on almost any coat (with a few exceptions). This brush is just AMAZING. I have tried many brushes and combs. this one really takes the cake. It removes mats with minimal effort and significantly reduces cleaning time. I've posted several before and after photos of a Yorkie's tail and ear that I've successfully removed with this brush (finishing with a fine-toothed comb for a nice, even trim). The price of this brush for what makes it so easy to use is VERY low! (Seriously, groomers, if you have a double it's the SAME, I assure you I can't tell the difference.) While it also does a good job of grooming, I wouldn't recommend just using this brush to remove it use all the dead undercoat. Add a fine comb along with an undercoat rake (for longer hair) or a rubber curry (for shorter hair or sensitive areas). I'm very excited to see what else this company comes up with and really hope for a brush that compares ;): : Some mats are too close to the skin to be combed safely without causing serious discomfort and injury to your pet. Please consult a professional if the tangles are severe - a full shave may be required to get your pet comfortable again. (If the basic requirements aren't met, a properly groomed coat will grow back!)
