This is one of those timeless and understated toys that kids will play with again and again. The colors are strong and striking. The size of the wooden pieces is perfect for small hands, but they are thick and solid, like cubes. I love that the vegetable holder at the top has very subtle variations in the size of the holes and the size of the veggies. I even stopped for a minute to think about why my radishes were disappearing. The wheels spin and the top is fully removable. I like that this toy is more encouraging, although the tuna is only "cause and reaction", the purpose of each part really depends on the child's imagination. One kid might be able to analyze and calculate all the slots, another can make vegetables talk to fruits, and a third can load passengers into a car. Its beauty lies in its vague purpose, natural materials and whimsical designs with vibrant colors.
