You have to take out the old circuit board and replace it with a new one!
The product works as expected. I've had problems with games and blu ray discs and have tried everything from resetting the ps3 to cleaning the blu ray lens to no avail. After changing the drive I was able to play games again. It was very helpful that they included a YouTube link in the PCB replacement video. It helped a lot.
