2020 F150 5.0 V8 The pipe is a bit short so the installation took longer than expected. This is not my first K&N cold air intake system. I actually replaced the Blackhawk intake with this setup. The Blackhawk uses a dry cone filter, which for some reason creates a whistling noise. Since my truck has an air piston scoop, which works really well since it pulls air in under the hood, I figured all I really needed was a custom tube/pipe without all the baffles that create drag. I've tried using a Blackhawk intake pipe but it won't connect to the top half of the stock airbox. This setup does just that. Typically you connect the pipe to the throttle body and then connect the other end to the airbox. Then connect the vent hoses last. However, it didn't work. I had to install in reverse order. Connect the breather lines first, then the airbox, then the throttle body. You should tighten slightly and keep adjusting until you have a seal on both ends, then tighten. The downside is that there is no way to remove the air filter. So every time I go to clean the k&n air filter, I have to completely loosen the hose to disconnect the airbox. Performance is better than stock as I expected. I can still hear the deep rumble of the engine when I step on the gas. I have a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler to keep the engine sounding good. The engine doesn't make such a deep growl when shooting continuously. The Blackhawk air intake gave me a bit more MPG and a slightly louder engine sound. But I don't hear the whistle anymore, which was really starting to bother me. This setup is more economical and still gives you a little more MPG than the original and a little more horsepower since you'll feel the difference when you hit the gas. I removed a star because this setup is intended to be easier to install than a traditional cold air intake, but is instead more difficult.
