I sort these chargers almost like a clock. Immediately after 1 year/warranty expires they die on me or the cable at the end of the laptop frays and becomes unreasonable to use. So instead of wasting the $89.99 Dell charges on their website, I figured it was time to buy a new one from Revain for less than half the price. Unfortunately, this was an expensive mistake. My "new" charger sparked at the end of the outlet every time I plugged it in. I've tried different outlets in different homes and surge protectors, but that didn't solve the problem. I was stupid and didn't return it (and used it anyway) and before I knew it I was out of the returns window. About 2 months after purchase, the motherboard died. It may or may not be related, but it's worth mentioning. I contacted Dell regarding their warranty (on the charger) and they said they would only honor warranties if products were purchased directly from their website. Also the charger started to wear out when inspecting the end of the laptop, again after only 2 months. Save your money and buy direct from Dell and avoid the costly mistake I made when I didn't have a laptop and charger. Not worth the initial savings or the hassle involved. I bought the charger in new condition from the seller "ChapterXVI".
