First I use PSB Synchrony One B 4 ohm bookshelf speakers High quality speaker cable makes more noticeable due to the damping factor and dB loss as the damping factor is halved and the dB loss doubles 8 ohms versus 4 ohms. I started with a 12 gauge Metra non-ofc cable and Amazon banana plugs. It sounded good, but quiet listening was fuzzy and too boomy. My speakers are 1.5 feet from the front wall, not the recommended 3 feet. The damping factor has increased from 100 to 50 with 4 ohms. Then I bought Amazon Basics 16 gauge cable. They sounded worse. Found these 10 gauge wires and opened up the speakers. Much cleaner and less noisy. The 4 ohm speakers benefit from a lower quality cable and they've done their job on the low end and the overall listening experience is more natural and realistic. A 12 gauge would probably be good, but a 10 gauge gave me 5 more damping factors than a 12 gauge. For a few bucks more, why not go for a 10 gauge. A highly recommended product of excellent quality that really makes a difference.
