Review on RXL SL Handlebars Mountain Bicycle by Isaac Maze

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great, light and affordable introduction to carbon bars

These bars are very light (they are carbon), stiff and yet much more comfortable with vibrations at speed than aluminum bars (they are carbon), but the extremely low price Does it make me nervous about putting them on my trail bike, which takes more abuse than I give them credit for (they're carbon). I've read a lot of bad reviews about cheap carbon fakes like these (which are awesome btw) and got really nervous about breaking them on real MTB trails where bars are subject to extreme handling and falls and all that stuff that bikes offer. I'm also 6'3 190lbs and tend to be a little heavier than average on gear than most, mostly because I'm a big guy. For this reason I am keeping the aluminum handlebars on my trail bike for the time being and expect a good discount on the more expensive carbon handlebars for this bike. HOWEVER I have them in my Crosscheck and my friend at the Bridge Club and for supercommuting, bombing gravel roads and easy trails they are great. So light, so comfortable and simply great value for money for a carbon handlebar. Basically, they're great for everything I do except real trails, and they can even be good for that! If you are lighter and more careful than me. I also recommend investing in a torque wrench now if you don't plan to invest in handlebars yet.
